Meet Dr. Paul Wender, MD, at Bay Area Ketamine Center Serving the Bay Area, Los Altos, CA

Dr. Paul Wender is a board-certified anesthesiologist. He attended Vanderbilt University and studied molecular biology and molecular virology. He has a graduate research degree and did his research in molecular neurobiology. He attended medical school at Emory University. Dr. Wender completed four years of anesthesiology residency training at the University of California San Francisco, considered the best anesthesia training in the world. He spent the next five years at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Beverly Hills, California, where he did hospital and outpatient anesthesia as well as pain management.

After returning to the Bay Area, he was an assistant clinical professor of anesthesia and perioperative medicine at the University of California, San Francisco, and a staff anesthesiologist at San Francisco General Hospital. He has guided over 10,000 patients comfortably and safely through anesthesia, pain management, and ketamine infusion for depression and other mental health conditions. He has had a long-standing interest in neurobiology, nerve receptors, and ketamine’s effect on nerve receptors. He formed the Bay Area Ketamine Center to bring ketamine therapy to the Bay Area. We are the oldest and original ketamine infusion clinic in the Bay Area.
